Orivesi Pride is a dry event.
The event is open for everyone!
Principles for a safer space:
- Respect everyone’s physical and mental space. Respect everyone’s autonomy. Do not touch anyone without asking consent first. Remember that you can’t know anyone’s boundaries without asking. Also, ask for more space for yourself when needed.
- Do not mock, jeer, derogate, cancel or humiliate anyone with your words, behaviour or actions. Do not judge anyone’s appearance, do not spread rumours and do not upheld stereotypes.
- Do not express assumptions based on anyone’s appearance or actions. Do not express assumptions about anyone’s sexuality, gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, values, socioeconomic background, health or abilities.
- Give space. Make sure that everyone has a chance to take part in discussions. Do not push over other people’s opinions and give them room too. Respect other people’s privacy and handle delicate topics respectfully.
- Listen and learn. Meet new topics, people and points of view without prejudice. Take every topic and situation as a chance to learn new and develop as a person.
- Apologize if you have hurt someone either intentionally or unintentionally.
Pride is, first and foremost, a protest. Even though we celebrate Orivesi Pride without a march, we won’t forget what Pride means or where the movement comes from.
Orivesi Pride is not a party. Orivesi Pride is not a festival. The organizers of Orivesi Pride respect the history of Pride marches and recognize all the sacrifices that are part of the Pride movement’s history since the Stonewall riots in 1969.
The event is alcohol-free and open for everyone, and the entrance is free.
